“Now faith is the certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen” Hebrews 11:1.
My faith is the most important thing in my life. I have grown up in a Christian home and a loving church community my entire life. I realize that this is something I take for granted and in all reality, this is something that people would trade the world for. Ever since we were young, after dinner my dad would read a chapter of the Bible and create visuals with us with the fork off his plate, a napkin, and his glass.
Faith is something that is not seen as it states in Hebrews 11. However, faith can also be the most difficult part of a believer’s life. It is easy to have faith when we are not being tested, or not going through a trial, but that is exactly when we must lean into faith and trust that God will provide and that He does.
Growth is not linear. Life is full of mountains and valleys, and in those valleys is when we truly see if we have faith. In these valleys we can start questioning God, why is He not answering my prayers? Why is He so distant? Why is He making me go through this? However, God is a good God. Sometimes God removes strong feelings from you, because that is when the most intimate level of worship happens. God wants you to make your wants known to him, He wants you to ventilate vertically. He IS listening, He DOES care, but He also knows that this is a crucial part of your spiritual walk that is going to shape and form you into the believer you have to become. Jerimiah 17:7-8 states, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. Whose confidence is in him, they will be like a tree planted by the water, that sends out roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; Its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
